Here is a check list for you to use so you can throw a successful shower!
 
 
 
Before the Big Day!
  
  • Choose a date and location for the shower.  Traditionally, showers are held four to six weeks before the babies due date.
  • Choose a theme for your shower.  From the tradional: It's A Boy or It's a Girl, Rubber Ducky, Little Lamb, Garden Party, Little Sport, Little Prince or Princess, Winnie The Pooh, to the fun and modern: Conception Theme:  Sperm & Egg Theme, Chic Mom, or Couples Theme.  Check out Baby Shower 101 for more theme ideas!
  • Determine the size of the party and then create a guest list, give a copy of the list to the mom-to-be so she has a guide for sending out thank-you notes
  • Plan games and activities, Don't forget to order Pin The Sperm On The Egg Game!
  • Make a list of food and drinks needed
  • Choose your invitations in the theme of your shower, address and send them out a few weeks before, remember to include directions!  We have invitations with the Sperm and Egg Theme!  Check them out!!!
  • Don't forget to order your cake!  Make sure you order a few weeks before!
  • Finalize your menu, get any unique items ordered early! Always track your orders, shipping problems can't get resolved the day before!!! Leave plenty of time for those unforseen situations!!!
  • Order your decorations, ribbons, posters, balloons (we've got those too!), steamers, any other party games (not that you'll need any other than Pin The Sperm On The Egg! ;) Wink Wink!)
  • Don't forget party favors and prizes for games!  Wrap gifts in pretty paper with lots of ribbons, try to use paper reflecting your theme. If you are hand making favors or gift, get working on them!

A week or so before the party, it's almost here!

 

  • Make sure you have gathered enough tables and chairs for all your guests, you might want to have a nice comfy chair for mom-to-be too!
  • Check your RSPV list to get a head count, call guests if necessary to see if they are coming
  • Confirm all your orders and reservations, track orders if they haven't arrived, resolve any issues before it's too late! 
  • Don't forget to have a camera avalible!  Having several disposable cameras around for guests to grab and use is a great way to capture those great memories!
  • Don't forget to buy a gift for the new mommy!  Have those party favors and game gifts ready!!!
  • HINT: You might want to check on your poster for the Pin The Sperm On The Egg game - lay it out flat a few days before!

 

 

The Big Day is Finally Here!

 

  • Before the party; have all your tables and chairs set up, pick up the food and cake, get all your beverages chilled, don't forget the ice!
  • Got all your games set up?  Don't forget to hang up Pin The Sperm On The Egg poster!  You can decorate around the poster, place our balloons on either side!  Have a pencil or pen to write each guests name on the back of each sperm so a winner can be determined!  Don't forget a blindfold!  A large cloth diaper can be used, or baby print cloth or burp rag.
  • Decorate with streamers and balloons, attach some outside so your guests can find you!
  • Put out the food and cake
  • Put on a great big smile!  You did it!  Enjoy your party! :)
